How much for a root canal?

This is a question we are often asked over the phone. The only problem is, the answer is: “it depends!”

The reason is that there is usually a range of fees for a root canal treatment. Some teeth have just one canal that needs to be treated and other teeth (like molars) can have 3 or 4 canals. This adds to the length of the treatment and the fees.

We often say that the root canal treatment itself could be in a range from $750 to $1300 for the treatment. However, frequently the tooth needs to be strengthened with a crown at the same time which can be as much again. You should talk to your dentist to see which option is right for you.

Thankfully, at Fraser Dental we have invested in new equipment for treating teeth with root canal. This new technology allows us to treat the tooth with more predictability and often the treatment is much quicker. The modern numbing agents we use mean that the treatment is often completely painless too. This is a huge difference from the old root canal dramas of the past.

So if you think you may need a root canal treatment, or it has been recommended to you, give us a call at Fraser Dental on 09 416 5050 and we’ll put your mind at ease.
